FIERCE LOVE

November 17-19
Hibernian Hall (184 Dudley St, Roxbury)

The Theater Offensive is thrilled to present a spirited revival of FIERCE LOVE, a unique look at Black gay life in America. Pomo Afro Homos co-founder, writer, and director Brian Freeman returns to Boston to revive and renew Fierce Love from its roots in the early 1990s. The vital issues of race, sexuality, and identity as a whole are as relevant as ever, and this timeless show has been remixed to reflect an ever-changing world.

PERFORMANCE FEAST

Monday, October 24th
Milky Way (284 Amory Street, Jamaica Plain)

This one-night only event featured local art, amazing food and compelling conversation. This is the culminating event for The Theater Offensive’s collaboration with the Hispanic Black Gay Coalition (HGBC). After a week of collective creation workshops with Brian Freeman, local artists shared a selection of work from their work-in-progress, Shout It OUT.

SHOUT IT OUT!

October 21-24

We’re collaborating with the Hispanic Black Gay Coalition (HBGC) to create an anthology of coming out stories. Through several series of workshops, we’re helping community members devise original theatrical work based on their coming out stories of being black or Latino/a in the Boston area. Artist Brian Freeman will join us in helping to further develop the work and host a staged reading of these Shout it OUT! stories, which will be presented during a performance of Fierce Love.
