A new musical inspired by Chinese New Year mythology. Kaylin Woo is an optimistic Chinese-American lesbian who returns to Hong Kong in hope of bringing together her disparet lives during the 15 day Chinese New Year, a festival traditionally marked by family and reunion.
In a desperate ploy, she deceives her African-American lover Asha into thinking that she has already come out to her parents...but things do not go as planned! Mother disapproves of her new liberal lifestyle, Brother resents her disobedience, and Asha is enraged by her lack of consideration and respect for their relationship. Kaylin tries her hardest to seek acceptance. Will she have to choose one over the other? Or, will she lose them both?

Melissa Li is a 20 year old Boston-based professional folk musician, film artist and aspiring playwright who has written and self-produced a video, a film and her own CD. She is a former member and assistant director of The Theater Offensive’s True Colors Out Youth Theater.
