Welcome to Twisted...
Out of the Box: Twisted Tales is All The Kings Men's premiere venture into the town of Twisted - a world with Grandmothers, Heroes, Performers, High School Kids, Bar Flies, Strippers, Office Assistants, and Out-Of-Towners... We introduce to you 80 characters from around Twisted, their stories, and how their lives intermesh. If youÕve seen ATKMÕs cabaret show, you are familiar with some of these chronicles, but never have you seen them this way before!
Out of the Box was written to be an accessible and entertaining conversation about sexuality, gender, character, and human interactions; an account of how "coming out" happens to us all, no matter what your orientation or identity. Everyman enters the arena, and you'll see a slice of life you might recognize to be like your own.
All The Kings Men started out as a Drag King troupe, and in the 5+ years of their performing and creating original works as an ensemble, they have taken those roots and found theatricality and storytelling components that, hopefully, communicate across communities to publics of many persuasions. In these days, where the Queer community makes daily headlines and our discussion of human rights is once again revisited, All The Kings Men comes to the table with a point of view about humanity that is refreshing, base, fun, and bold with Out of the Box: Twisted Tales.
