DAGGER
dykes with a cutting edge

"This year there have been massive funding cuts in many key social programs affecting Women and girls. This issue personally affects us & our families - public and private health care programs are being cut back, affordable housing is near- impossible to find, and insurance costs are going up. Several of our workplaces have had to cut back - and one DAGGER member's partner was laid off from a groundbreaking Buddies program assisting people living with AIDS!

Members of DAGGER researched the issues, coming up with several short skits about the lack of AIDS education & outreach for youth and communities of color, and the general lack of public care for those most in need.

In March 2002 we joined several progressive groups at the "Women Speak Out" protest at the MA State House, listening to testimony from women living in a state increasingly blind to their health, housing and employment needs."
